PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi yesterday received the Global Leadership Medal from US-based Napoleon Hill Foundation for his dedication to the country.
In his speech, Abdullah dedicated the award to all Malaysians who had thrown their support behind the government.
“I thank you (Malaysians) for the support and cooperation,” he said at the launch of the two-day Napoleon Hill International Convention in Putrajaya yesterday. The award presentation was held on the sidelines of the convention, which is being held outside the US for the first time. Abdullah said he was uncertain whether he deserved to receive the award, to which convention participants spontaneously replied “yes”.
“It is an honour indeed to be the first recipient of the Global Leadership Award. I accept it with humility,” he said. Napoleon Hill president James L. Oleson said the Global Leadership Medal was awarded in recognition of outstanding leaders around the world who protect and project the foundation’s 17 principles of success. “We look for individuals whom we believe have shown outstanding leadership character and motivation and has acted to improve the welfare of both the nation and global economy,” he said
